The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention program is a community-based lifestyle improvement program for adults with prediabetes. Its purpose is to empower adults with lasting lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their chance of developing type-2 diabetes.
Moderate-impact classes with high-impact results. Across the YMCA of the Suncoast we offer Enhance®Fitness, an evidence-based group exercise program for older adults that uses simple, easy-to-learn movements that motivate individuals (particularly those with arthritis) to stay active throughout their life.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA serves people affected by cancer and empowers them to reclaim their health and well being. YMCA of the Suncoast is honored to offer this program to residents of Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
MASH (Mainstream Adults Sharing Hope) Ages - Adult (18 and up). Adults with special needs (physical and cognitive) meet for activities that encourage socializing, development of healthy habits, and that uplift the spirit through community involvement.
Moving for Better Balance is a 12-week, falls prevention program, evidence-based, instructor-led group program designed to improve strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance through the therapeutic movements of Tai Chi, a graceful form of exercise and deep breathing.
