Class Description:
This training awards the YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification. After completion of this course instructors will be able to identify components of the YMCA Swim Lesson Continuum, demonstrate behaviors of an effective YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, Maintain any inclusive environment of learning while keeping order in a positive and safe environment, employ swim teaching techniques that breakdown the critical features of a swimmer's skill progression at any age or stage and demonstrate the swim instructor's role in the safety process and during an emergency.
Must be certified currently in CPR PRO, Oxygen and First Aid prior to registration.
This is a YMCA of the USA (Suncoast) staff training where instruction and certification are included in the class fees which will be taken care of by a Journal Transfer.

Prerequisites:
Participants will have completed the following course PRIOR to REGISTERING for the in-person session:
- Principles of Youth Development (eLearning on LCDC- YT101B)
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor: Orientation (eLearning on LCDC, $10 cost- AQ116B)
- YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor: Observe and Communicate (eLearning on LCDC, $10 cost- AQ113B)
- CURRENT CPR PRO, FIRST AID and OXYGEN (outside licenses)
Be able to swim 4 of the 6 strokes for 25 yards at a Stage 4- Stroke Development level.
Equipment Requirments:
Provide current Swim Lesson Instructor certification, swim suit, towel, sunscreen, goggles, pen, paper and any other personal swimming equipment needed.

Wednesday, June 7th - 5:00 - 9:00 PM
Friday, June 9th - 5:00 - 9:00 PM
Saturday, June 10th - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
